Albinos in Africa
Life is harsh for millions of Africans who are albinos. Throughout
their lives they suffer prejudice, ridicule, social exclusion
and isolation. Very few find a place in school. Very few find
work. Very few find a place in society or marriage.

Cleft Lip and Palate
Cleft treatment and management is receiving increasing attention in many parts of Africa with international symposiums in Kenya, September 2006 and another in Nigeria, February 2007. An intensive training course in cleft treatment for surgeons plus accompanying therapy training from cleft specialists is planned for 2007/08 in Ghana.
Equipment Provision
Since 2002, £1 million worth of equipment and materials for use in anaesthetics, surgery, wards, sterilisation, recovery and rehabilitation has been sent out to help modernise and assist the work of the reconstructive plastic surgery units in Ghana.
Cases
£10 per month by standing order would greatly help improve
the quality of life of many young Africans needing plastic
surgery, including Emmanuel, Isatou, Amekoudi, and John.
